New book: Veganissimo A To Z

Wouldn’t you love a guide to all things animal- or bug-derived that happen to end up in foods on supermarket shelves or at the local coffee bar? Recently, you’ve heard about crushed bugs in coffee but there is also connective tissue in popular candy items and even fish bladders in beer. Yes, it’s true. But vegan Reuben Proctor has a book for you that will keep you up-to-date on animal-derived ingredients in everyday foods so you don’t have to wonder.

Veganissimo A To Z

Veganissimo A To Z: A Comprehensive Guide to Identifying and Avoiding Ingredients of Animal Origin in Everyday Products is an essential new resource for vegans as well as everyone who wants to know exactly what is in the items they eat, drink, and use. There are 2,500 detailed A-to-Z entries on ingredients that can be or are derived from animals in food and countless other everyday products.

Products like dietary supplements, beer and wine, and even electronics can all include animal-derived components, and Veganissimo A to Z will help the aspiring veganissimo (a vegan to the max!) to steer clear of those products and reduce his or her “animal footprint.”

The book includes more than 2,500 animal, mineral, chemical, and plant-based ingredients, and detailed descriptions of their production, uses, and alternative names. It also covers animal-derived ingredients found not only in foods but also in dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, beer and wine, cosmetics, household cleaning products, clothing, footwear, sporting goods, art supplies, electronics, and more
