5 Quick ways to relieve stress

Wanna get away? Oh, if only we could all just board a plane and escape the rigors of the day. Since it’s not exactly budget-friendly nor even possible unless you happen to own a charter plane, we’ve got a few quick ways to let tension melt away.
Wanna get away? Oh, if only we could all just board a plane and escape the rigors of the day. Since it’s not exactly budget-friendly nor even possible unless you happen to own a charter plane, we’ve got a few quick ways to let tension melt away.

1. Soothe your eyes with tea

Brew some double-strength green tea and sip it while you cool your tea bags in the refrigerator. When they are cool, lay back on the couch and place a tea bag on each eye. Take 10 to let your tired eyes get revived.

2. Take a warm bath

Pull out those lavender bath salts you got for Christmas and pour them into a warm bath. Bubbles are optional — but fun. Light some candles, turn down the lights, and sink into your warm oasis of water. Breathe deep and let your tensions float away.

3. Relieve your feet

Being on your feet all day or just wearing shoes that don’t fit well can give you sore tootsies, which only add to the other stresses you’re encountering. Give your feet a spa treatment by filling the tub with warm water and letting them soak. Then drain the tub and fill it with cold water, submerging your feet for a few minutes. At this point, you can repeat the warm to cold treatment or you can slather on a minty foot cream and pull on a pair of soft, cozy socks. Kick your feet up and relax for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or long enough to listen to your favorite playlist or finish up that good book.

4. Breathe deep

Wherever you are, taking a few deep breaths can give you a quick means to stress relief. Close your eyes and deeply inhale then exhale, repeat 10 times. With every exhale, imagine the stress leave your body.

5. Get a hug and give a hug

Think about how good you feel after a hug. Whether it be your spouse, kids, best friend, or even your pet, take a few minutes to just rest in a hug. Chances are you’ll also bless the one you hug, too.
