Popcorn Lover’s Day

Popcorn drizzled in Marshmallow

For those popcorn lovers, here is a recipe that combines sweet and salty to make a great snack for the kids at home or to set out when entertaining.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bags popcorn
  • 1 bag jumbo marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions:

1

Cook popcorn

Put the big saucepan on the stove top and put 2 bags of popcorn in and cook it as normal, until the popcorn pops.

2

Melt marshmallows

Set the popped popcorn aside and open the bag of marshmallows. Toss the marshmallows into another pot on the stove and melt with the 1/4 cup of butter. Cook until everything is melted and you have a smooth, creamy sauce.

3

Add popcorn

While the sauce is still warm, add back in your popcorn and stir well. Make sure you cover every kernel in the sweet sauce.

4

Put marshmallow covered popcorn in pan

Set the marshmallow covered popcorn aside on a baking pan lined with wax paper.

5

Let cool

Collect the popcorn into medium-sized balls and let cool on the baking sheet. The balls are like rice crispy treats, but have a great combination with the salt of the popcorn and the sweetness from the marshmallows.

6

Skewer popcorn balls

For entertaining, take a skewer and add a popcorn ball, then a jumbo marshmallow. Alternate the popcorn balls and jumbo marshmallows across the entire skewer and set out as festive treats.
