Homemade taco seasoning
Yields about 1/4 cup
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
Directions:
- Add all spices to a small bowl and whisk together.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
Homemade Cajun seasoning
Yields about 1/4 cup
Ingredients:
- 2-1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Directions:
- Add all spices to a small bowl and whisk together.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Homemade Italian seasoning
Yields about 1/3 cup
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons dried basil
- 3 tablespoons dried parsley
- 3 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and crush together. You can use the back of a spoon to crush the spices.
- Whisk together after crushing and add to an airtight container.
- Store for up to 6 months.
Homemade steak seasoning
Yields about 1/3 cup
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon butcher ground pepper (this is a coarse ground pepper)
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 smoked paprika
- Pinch cayenne pepper
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to the bowl of food processor. Give the mix a quick whiz in the machine to combine.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
