Holiday spiced nuts

At a loss for gifts? These spiced nuts are an easy one!

Not only are edible gifts easy, quick and done in the comfort of your kitchen rather than braving the crazy malls, they’re far more likely to actually be enjoyed! These three variations of roasted nuts are the perfect little gift for those last few names on your list this year.

1

Sweet cinnamon

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 tablespoon egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch salt

Directions:

  1. Whisk the egg whites in a small bowl until frothy.
  2. Add the nuts and toss to coat.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and toss again until all the spices are evenly coated.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F on a greased baking sheet for about 15 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Watch carefully from about the 12-minute mark on as the nuts can go from roasted to burnt very quickly!
