Candy canes aren’t just for hanging on the Christmas tree. Let them simmer on the stove and you can create a sweet and simple candy cane syrup that’s perfect for coffee cocktails.

Flavored syrups don’t have to be store-bought and expensive. You can simply make them at home for half the cost and all the flavor. We made a homemade candy candy simple syrup, and paired it with a little bourbon, eggnog and coffee. Could this Christmas-inspired winter cocktail get any better?

Yields 1 drink

  • 2/3 cup eggnog
  • 2 ounces brewed espresso
  • 2 ounces bourbon

  3. Gently pour in milk/eggnog mixture. Gently spooning the foam on the top.
  4. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if you desire.
