The year may be over, but the good times don’t have to stop flowing. Keep the fun going with our favorite cocktails from 2013.
Celebrate the new year by paying homage to 2013 in the best way possible. These 10 cocktails are the best of the best SheKnows had to offer during the Year of the Snake.
Bacon, coffee & maple whiskey martini
You had us at bacon. We love this creative glass full of vices because it’s unpretentious and, most important, seriously yummy. A righteous mix of maple whiskey, coffee and everyone’s favorite breakfast protein, it’s the perfect hair of the dog the day after that crazy New Year’s Eve bash.

Boozy shamrock shake
They’re not going to serve you alcohol at the drive-thru, but we’ve got you covered. This minty treat is the perfect blend of ice cream and booze, topped with whipped cream and green sprinkles.

Adult vodka lemonade juice pouch
When the weather warms up, treat yourself and you friends to a cocktail as nostalgic as it is refreshing. Drinking from a juice pouch will make you feel like a kid again, and the alcohol will help you forget how old you are.

Sweet sugar-rimmed grapefruit martini
Originally created as a signature wedding reception cocktail, this beautiful cocktail is still simple enough to have on a random Saturday if you substitute fresh-squeezed juice for the bottled stuff. Just don’t skip on the candy sanding sugar. Regular sugar would taste fine, but the pretty rim is part of the fun.

Cookie and cocoa butter hot chocolate
The only thing better than homemade hot chocolate is homemade boozy hot chocolate. Our favorite is the cookie and cocoa butter hot chocolate with cinnamon, spiced rum and chopped almonds. We won’t tell if you use marshmallows instead of whipped cream.

Boozy maple bacon doughnut milkshake
Is it really a surprise that bacon and maple are making a second appearance on this list? This time we added chunks of real glazed doughnut for a sinfully delicious milkshake version of a popular Portland staple: the maple bacon doughnut from Voodoo Donuts.

Inaugural boozy milkshake
Here at SheKnows, 2013 seemed to be the year of the boozy milkshake instead of the Year of the Snake (and that’s fine by us). We created this layered red, white and blue recipe to celebrate the inauguration, but it works equally well on the Fourth of July, Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day.

Sparkling berry mojito
The great thing about this cocktail is that you can use any kind of fresh or frozen berries you have on hand. We used strawberries and blackberries (and we do love the combo of blackberries and mint), but you can also try it with raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, gooseberries or even lingonberries.

Watermelon & jalapeño margaritas
Sweet and spicy was also on trend in 2013, and this watermelon and jalapeño margarita is firing on all cylinders. You can enjoy it on Cinco de Mayo, but we doubt you’ll go back to regular margaritas ever again.

Summer berry mojito poptails
We wouldn’t be SheKnows if at least one of our top cocktails wasn’t really a drink. These spiked berry ice pops add a little kick to beating the heat.
