Super Bowl stadium ice cream sundaes

Even if you’re not a giant fan of football, it’s hard not to get excited about the Super Bowl. Every year, I make giant appetizer spreads and cute little desserts — all shaped like footballs and goalposts. To celebrate this year’s big bowl game, I decided to make adorable stadium sundaes!

Serves about 4

Nothing says Super Bowl like ice cream, right? These adorable, personal-size sundaes look like miniature stadiums, complete with sprinkle fans and candy-coated football players. They make great DIY projects for halftime (or during the game if you’re not keen on watching!)

Slightly adapted from In Katrina’s Kitchen

Ingredients:

  • 4 waffle bowls
  • Nonpareil sprinkles
  • White and red icing gel
  • Mint chocolate chip ice cream
  • Blue and white candies
  • Mini chocolate-covered pretzels
1

Outline the stadiums & fill

Using your white icing gel, outline the stadium inside the waffle bowl.

I did this in 4 sections. Then, I carefully flooded the lines with the icing.

Immediately coat the icing with sprinkles. Carefully shake the excess sprinkles and freeze for a few hours to set.

2

Fill with ice cream

Scoop mint chocolate chip ice cream into the center of the waffle bowls. Using the back of a knife, smooth the top.

3

Draw the playing field

Using the red icing gel (or whatever color you have on hand), draw a football field on top of the ice cream.

Add the mini pretzels (for footballs) and colored candies for the football players. Freeze before serving or enjoy immediately.
