2. Chocolate strawberry bugs recipe
Yields 6
Ingredients:
- 6 large strawberries
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- Canola oil
- Twizzlers Pull ‘N’ Peel
- Vanilla frosting
- Mini chocolate chips
- Marshmallows
Directions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips for about 60 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds. Add the canola oil, and mix.
- Dip each strawberry halfway into the chocolate, and place it on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Place them in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours.
- Once chilled, add 2 dabs of vanilla icing to the top part of the chocolate-dipped part of the strawberry. Add a mini chocolate chip in the center of each frosting dot to make pupils.
- Stick the mini chocolate chips into the “back” of the strawberry. Stick 2 small holes right above the face of the bug. Peel a string off the Twizzlers, and then cut into 1/8-inch lengths. Stick the Twizzlers into the holes to make the antennae.
- Rip a small piece off the marshmallow, and stick it right below the eyes (to make the nose).
