SheKnows got the chance to sit down with Lauren Conrad at The Beverly Hills Hotel for an intimate brunch and cocktails to discuss all things summer — and, more importantly, her favorite, low-calorie rum cocktails.
When asked if she knew what her go-to cocktail of the summer would be, she pointed down and said, “It’s this cocktail I am drinking: a mojito with Malibu Island Spiced Rum. It’s more tropical because it’s got the coconut, vanilla and cinnamon.”
Because L.C., like most ladies, enjoys a cocktail or two, she thinks it’s essential to do it the low-cal way: “I like mixing my drinks with club soda or coconut water… it’s low-cal and hydrates, so you don’t get wrinkles or hangovers.”
So why not try them out? Here are four recipes from L.C., just for you:
Cabana crush
Ingredients:
- 1 part Malibu Island Spiced Rum
- 3 parts pineapple juice
- Lime wedge
Directions:
- Blend all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
- For a lighter option, add 2 parts soda water and 1 part pineapple juice on top of Malibu Island Spiced Rum.

Primped & pampered
Ingredients:
- 1 part Malibu Island Spiced Rum
- 3 parts fresh cider
- Cinnamon powder
- Cinnamon stick (optional)
Directions:
- Wet the rim of a chilled martini glass and dip in cinnamon powder.
- Mix ingredients in shaker over ice.
- Strain into a martini glass.
- Garnish with a fresh cinnamon stick if desired.

Malibu Island Spiced mojito
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 parts Malibu Island Spiced Rum
- 2 packets Truvia
- 3 lime wedges
- 3 mint sprigs
- 3 parts soda water
Directions:
- Muddle lime, mint and Truvia in the bottom of a Collins glass.
- Add Malibu Island Spiced.
- Top with soda water.
- Garnish with mint sprigs.
Malibu coconut spiced
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 parts Malibu Island Spiced Rum
- 4 parts coconut water
Directions:
- Build ingredients over ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
