Easter surprise pudding pops recipe
Yields 6
Ingredients and supplies:
- 6 – 8 ounces white candy melts
- 1 small box (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 6 large plastic Easter eggs
- Decorative straws or lollipop sticks
- Bunny candy mold (I found mine at Walmart)
Directions:
- Drill 2 x 3/8-inch holes in the bottom halves of your plastic eggs — 1 in the center and 1 off to the side.
- In a microwave-safe dish, melt the white candy melts. Pour into your bunny mold, and allow to cool and harden.
- Drill holes in the bottoms of the candy melt bunnies, and secure straws or lollipop sticks with a dab of the leftover candy melt. Allow to cool, and secure in place.
- In a bowl, mix the instant pudding powder and 2 cups of milk with a whisk, stirring for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of whipped topping. Mix until incorporated.
- Place the plastic egg tops upside down in an egg carton. Fill them with the pudding mixture.
- Insert the candy bunnies on sticks or straws, ears down, into the pudding mixture. Secure the bottom halves of the plastic eggs to the tops, making sure the straws or sticks poke through the drilled holes in the center.
- Put the remaining pudding mixture in a plastic squeeze bottle or piping bag. Fill the sealed eggs through the other drilled hole with the pudding mixture. Place the eggs in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
- To loosen the frozen pudding pops from the eggs, thaw them slightly under warm running water.
- Remove the tops and bottoms of the plastic eggs, and serve your Easter guests. Wait for their reaction when they bite into the bunny.
