t If your family is anything like ours, you’re probably on the verge of Christmas madness. The holiday to-do list is piling up, and you can’t seem to wrap your head around what gifts to get your friends, family and co-workers.
t As children, CakePop and I used to always look forward to one Christmas box in particular — the fudge box! It came from our real estate agent, Sandy, the lady who sold us our house in Albuquerque. Even though we only worked with her for a brief period of time, Sandy soon became a family friend, and her fudge was a welcome addition to our Christmas table every year.
t Fudge is fast becoming my favorite goody to gift, especially during the holidays. It’s rich, so you don’t need to send much, and in one batch, you can take care of 10 or 12 households. This year, we are dressing up a traditional eggnog fudge with some fun elf-inspired colors. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
t Happy holidays, Yummies!

- Prep a baking dish or pan with nonstick spray or parchment paper and set it aside.
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, eggnog, butter and salt over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stir constantly for 10 minutes. Make sure the mixture reaches 230 degrees F on a candy thermometer. After 10 minutes, remove it from the heat.
- Stir in 10 ounces of chocolate chips plus the nutmeg, marshmallow creme and rum. You’ll want to move quickly on this since it works best while the mixture is still hot. Using a wooden spoon is best.
- Pour the fudge mixture into your pan and let it cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle the remaining 2 ounces of chocolate chips plus the red candy sprinkles on top, then refrigerate the fudge overnight.
- Cut the fudge into squares and package it in your most festive Christmas boxes and bows!
