?While I have a good routine when it comes to preparing healthy snacks during the work week, I confess that on weekends, we tend to fall o? the bandwagon.
t
t Somehow, it’s easier to ignore these wholesome snacks when I don’t take the time to pack them the night before, as I do during the week.
t If anything, you would think it should be easier to snack mindfully when you’re at home, but the truth is, it takes just the same amount of effort to snack well on the weekends.
t I started applying the same snacking approach to our weekends; rather than spending my Friday night chopping and slicing, I set aside time on Saturday morning, as I sip my coffee and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, to prepare snacks for the entire weekend. I have found that leaving sliced fruits and vegetables on the kitchen table encourages my family to stop there first, instead of opening the cabinets to other temptations. It’s much easier to snack mindfully when you have a pretty display of crunchy fruits, vegetables and nuts.
t
t I love putting wedges of The Laughing Cow Spreadable Cheese alongside this buffet of goodies; it adds the protein we crave when smeared on some bagel chips or celery sticks. My new favorite is filling mini sweet peppers with The Laughing Cow Creamy Queso Fresco Chipotle and sprinkling pepitas or sunflower seeds on top; it’s crunchy, creamy, a little bit spicy and very satisfying.
