If your breakfast requires signing a release form, then you’re probably making the biggest (and possibly last) mistake of your life.
Unfortunately for those of us who treasure this precious gift we call life, the 8,000-calorie breakfast isn’t some sort of sick joke — it’s a real menu item at Bear Grills in the U.K.
For approximately $30, patrons of the restaurant can attempt to ingest 8 pieces of bacon, 8 sausages, 4 hash browns, 4 fried eggs, 4 potato waffles, 4 pieces of toast, 4 pieces of fried bread, a 4-egg cheese omelet, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, large chips and a large milk shake.
Never mind the fact that it’s insane to have a milk shake with breakfast, the lineup isn’t even that exciting. Bacon and sausage, waffles, toast and fried bread — it’s just pointless overkill.
And kill you it may! According to Eater, those attempting to tackle the meal have to sign a waiver before digging in, in case they, uh, die during their meal.
Even worse? The restaurant is challenging people to complete the breakfast in less than 30 minutes so they can win back the cost of the meal. If you ask me, that’s just dangerous, never mind disgusting.
Sure, the restaurant is just trying to have fun. But at the same time, it’s hard for me to stomach seeing so much excess at a time when obesity rates are skyrocketing here and in the U.K. and while knowing you could split this one meal up and feed, like, 20 hungry kids an ample breakfast.
What do you think? Is the challenge a fun idea or an overall bad move?
