Here are three fun and easy meatless ways to bring texture and flavor to frozen pizzas and make them even more delicious. We tend to like a variety of flavors, ranging from sweet and spicy to savory, in my house, so with that, there must be one that will fit your family’s needs perfectly. Adjust the ingredients for these spruced-up pizzas to your own liking!
1. Spicy-sweet pizza recipe
This combination adds fresh pineapple, jalapeños and onions to create a sweet and zesty spin on this frozen pizza.
Serves 4-5 based on the brand of pizza used
Prep time: 10 minutes | Bake time: 20 minutes | Total time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen pizza (I used a rising-crust pizza)
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 1/2 cup sliced red onions
- 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced (omit if you don’t like spicy)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Preheat the oven as directed on the package for the frozen pizza, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the pizza from the package, and place it on the baking sheet.
- Arrange the pineapple, sliced red onions and jalapeños on top of the pizza.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza, and bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown.

This jazzed-up pizza uses a meatless, veggie-based sausage, olives, fresh mushrooms and green peppers for a savory-flavored pizza.

Prep time: 15 minutes | Bake time: 15 minutes | Total time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen pizza (I used a thin crust-style pizza)
- 1/4 cup thawed veggie-based sausage, crumbled
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup diced green peppers
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Directions:
- Preheat the oven as directed for the frozen pizza, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the frozen pizza from the package, and place it on the baking sheet.
- Arrange the veggie sausage crumbles, black olives, mushrooms and green peppers on top of the pizza.
- Sprinkle the top with garlic powder and dried thyme.
- Bake the pizza for 15 minutes or until it starts to turn a golden brown color (thin-crust pizzas tend to bake more quickly, so keep an eye out so that it doesn’t burn).
- Remove the pizza from the oven, and slice it into pieces. Best served warm.
3. Farmers market veggie pizza recipe
This pizza speaks for itself. A variety of fresh vegetables are piled high on this frozen pizza and baked up until crispy.

Ingredients:
- 1 frozen pizza (I used a brick oven-style pizza)
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 2-3 medium-size tomatoes, sliced
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 red onion, sliced or diced
- 1 handful fresh basil, chopped
Directions:
- Preheat the oven as directed on the pizza package, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the pizza from the package, and place it on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the pizza with the dried Italian seasoning.
- Arrange the tomatoes, olives and red onion on top of the pizza.
- Generously top with the chopped basil, and bake for 15 minutes or until the pizza is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, and cut into slices. Best served warm.
