When I was a kid, I had no idea that by the time I would be an adult, dessert dips would be a thing. The first time I saw a dessert dip, I was totally thrown off. A dip that’s a dessert? Aren’t dips for savory goods? Nope. Dessert dips are now totally a thing.

These sweet little bowls of deliciousness take all the best holiday and winter flavors and turn them into a dip. You can serve them with cookies, pretzels or even fresh fruit slices. It’s totally up to you. I personally like to eat the dips with apple slices, but pretzels are my second favorite.

Peppermint-hot chocolate dip recipe

This sweet peppermint-hot chocolate dip is the perfect balance of chocolate and mint.

Yields 2 cups

Total time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup hot chocolate mix (the powdered kind)
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon mint extract, depending on desired mint flavor
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping (more or less may be needed)
  • Chocolate sauce, for topping
  • Sprinkles, for topping
  • Pretzels, apples or cookies, for dipping

Directions:

  1. To the bowl of an electric mixer, add the whipped cream, marshmallow fluff, hot chocolate mix and extract. Mix together until smooth.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping till you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Top with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.
  4. Serve with pretzels, apple slices or cookies.

  • Pretzels, apples or cookies, for dipping

Directions:

  1. To the bowl of an electric mixer, add the whipped cream, marshmallow fluff, vanilla pudding powder and nutmeg. Mix together until smooth.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping till you reach your desired consistency.
