St. Patrick’s Day cocktails

Forget the green beer and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with these delicious cocktails instead.

Try a different twist on Guinness with one of these beer cocktails.

The Black and Tan

Serves one

Ingredients:

  • 1 part pale ale
  • 1 part dark beer, such as Guinness stout

Directions:

  1. Fill a beer glass half full of pale ale.
  2. Create two distinct layers by slowly pouring the stout over the back of an angled spoon until the glass is full.

The Black Velvet

Serves one

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Champagne or other sparking wine
  • 1 part stout, such as Guinness

Directions:

  1. Fill a champagne flute or pint glass half full of stout.
  2. Create two distinct layers by slowly pouring in the champagne over the back of an angled spoon until the glass is full.

The poor man’s Black Velvet

Serves one

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Guiness stout
  • 1 part hard cider

Directions:

  1. Pour a pint or beer glass half full of hard cider.
  2. Create two distinct layers by slowly pouring in the Guinness over the back of an angled spoon until the glass is full.

A Guinness float

Serves one

Ingredients:

  • Guinness or other dark beer
  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions:

  1. Fill a pint glass 3/4 full of beer.
  2. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve.
