Marsala is Pantone’s Color of the Year and we can’t wait to cook with it

The 2015 Pantone Color of the Year has been announced, and cooks everywhere are rejoicing.

I have to admit I don’t follow the Color of the Year selection too closely, but when I heard the 2015 selection was Marsala, I was pretty excited. Think of all the possibilities…

Marsala for breakfast? Absolutely acceptable as syrup for pancakes.

Marsala in all the food? I can get behind that.

A swig of Marsala for every splash in the pan? I can really get behind that.

And remember, Pantone pretty much made you form this wine habit, so you can just blame them for feeling the need to be on trend. Finally, a color of the year that benefits me.

But maybe you’re more interested in actually cooking with Marsala rather than just getting your drink on. If these recipes don’t inspire you to incorporate more Marsala into your dishes, I don’t know what will.

You really can’t go wrong with the classic. If you’ve never had chicken Marsala, then you should immediately remedy this.

On top of that glorious Marsala sauce, these chicken rolls are pancetta-wrapped and cheese-stuffed. I’d eat this for dessert after I ate it for dinner.

I mean, come on. Chocolate Marsala sauce? Give me a ladle.

Thank you, Pantone, for choosing the best ever color of the year.
