Eatable News: Deep-fried Sriracha, Frozen soup, powdered alcohol and more

Last week we were gawking at the Churro Dog and lamenting the reveal of Peeps milk. This week we’re talking deep-fried Sriracha, powdered alcohol, cookie butter cheesecake and plenty of other can’t-miss food news.

1. Muscle muffins

These healthy egg muscle muffins have taken Imgur by storm, racking up over two million views in one week. There is something mesmerizing about it, isn’t there? Plus, super-easy breakfast for the win.

2. Powdered alcohol

That’s right, folks. Just-add-water booze is finally a reality and has just been approved by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Thanks to Palcohol, I will no longer have to worry about lugging huge bottles of vodka around (let’s be honest… those things are heavy). Though it’s not available in stores yet, look for the four approved flavors this summer.

3. Disney Orange Bird pancakes

Do not let your kids watch this ridiculously awesome video of Orange Bird pancakes being made. They will definitely request them for breakfast, and then you’ll be posting a Pinterest fail of some pancakes that look like bad things happened to Orange Bird. #mostcertainlywillnotnailit

4. Deep-fried Sriracha

Amy at Oh, Bite It! does some crazy stuff with food, whether it’s deep-fried Cadbury Creme Eggs or this genius recipe for deep-fried Sriracha. Admit it, you wish you’d thought of it first.

5. Candy bar controllers

Old-school video gamers, you’ve got to check out these super-cool edible classic controllers.

6. Speculoos Cookie Butter Cheesecake Bites

Last week Trader Joe’s made me weak in the knees with its new partially popped popcorn, and this week they’ve done it again with Speculoos Cookie Butter Cheesecake Bites. Of note: It’s cheesecake with cookie butter(!!!), they’re premade (which means I will be eating them on the way home from the store), and there are 12 in a box (what are you guys going to eat?). Get them in the freezer aisle for $4.49.

7. Bacon mac and cheese pie

Three of my favorite things, all wrapped into one dish: bacon, mac and cheese, pie. Really, does it get any better? Actually, it does when the bacon is a lattice crust. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dude Foods, for creating the most drool-worthy mac and cheese I’ve seen in some time.

8. Hello Kitty pizza

Because sometimes you just need a little Hello Kitty pizza in your life.

9. Frozen Fever Campbell’s soup

Campbell’s just made it next to impossible to walk down the soup aisle with your children thanks to its new Frozen Fever label featuring Princesses Elsa and Anna. Stock up, because chicken soup just became your kid’s new favorite meal. Cans are available now for $1.79.
