If someone had told me that the key to frosting the perfect cake was half a dozen huge ice cream scoopfuls of buttercream, I might have been more interested in baking.
Who am I kidding? I just would have been more interested in eating that perfect cake after someone else frosted it. What can I say? I’m more of a cake eater than a cake baker.
But for those of you who are interested in baking — and specifically in getting perfectly smooth buttercream on your finished product — I have good news for you. It actually doesn’t look that hard. The key is using way more frosting than you’d ever think you needed and scraping the sides in one continuous motion. See for yourself. Warning: You will want cake after watching.
