Starbucks name generator predicts what misspelling will end up on your cup

It’s a running joke that when a Starbucks barista asks for your name, nine times out of 10, it will be misspelled.

Of course, hearing you over the sound of the blenders, espresso machine and milk steamer can be hard, especially when it’s 7 a.m. and you’re still having trouble forming words. But sometimes the name they hear is so far from what you said, you just have to laugh.

Enter WhatsMyStarbucksName.com.

You submit your name to the site, then click the coffee cup next to your name.

My first try, I got Jennica.

I wanted to see what else they could come up with, so I hit “That’s not what I ordered,” and they generated a new name — Ginina.

This basically mirrors my experience at my local ‘bucks. The best was when my cup said “Deena.” As in, “My name is just Deena.” Hey, I can see how there might be confusion!

And I’m not the only one who’s had an IRL misspelling. Just check out Carc:
