Homemade Bit-O-Honey candy with just one ingredient? I can get behind that.
Bit-O-Honey might not be the flashiest candy out there, but man, is it good. I know it has a reputation of being one of those old-timey sweets that lingered at the bottom of Grandma’s candy jar because all the “good” stuff was gone, but if you haven’t tried it again as an adult, you’re missing out.
It’s simple, straightforward, and you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. There’s no insanely sour coating on the outside, no goopy surprise in the middle. It’s like you’re eating a… wait for it… bit of honey (with some almond mixed in for a little crunch).
And now you can make it yourself with a single ingredient. Spoiler alert: It’s honey.
If you want to get fancy, add in some almond bits when you knead your taffy, and you’ve got a legitimate copycat recipe on your hands. Or add some flavor to the outside with sesame seeds, sea salt or red pepper flakes as they do in the video.
Any way you slice it, it’s going to be good.
