At SheKnows Food, we spend a lot of time reading about — you guessed it — food (and drinks too!). And we’ve come across some stories that are too good to not share. Here are the food items from the week that you don’t want to miss.
1. Whopper Wine makes us wish we lived in Spain
Burger King is celebrating its 40-year anniversary of being in Spain with a very limited-edition wine. Whopper Wine, to be exact. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you roll) it isn’t made with actual Whoppers but aged in flame-grilled wood barrels to mimic the charbroiled taste of the iconic burger. Only 40 lucky winners will score a bottle, based on a photo submission contest. Who’s moving to Spain? — Creativity

2. Pizza for dessert
Sometimes you just need more pizza in your day. Enter pizza ice cream. Have a slice for dinner and a scoop for dessert. Crust lovers won’t be totally satisfied with the frozen treat, but toppings junkies will love the mascarpone and olive oil ice cream with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. It probably doesn’t hold up for delivery, though. Get your hands on it at Coolhaus in Los Angeles. — Eater
3. Oscar Mayer wants you to “find your bacon lover”
There’s a dating site for everyone, as proven by Sizzl, the new Oscar Mayer app that matches fellow bacon lovers according to how much “sizzle” you give a prospective mate. Sound like a joke? It’s not. The Sizzl FAQs assuages that doubt with an homage to Seinfeld: “Yes. It’s real, and it’s incredible.” There is some heavy Oscar Mayer promo going on, but hey, it’s their app, and they can do what they want, including leave Android users out of the fun; it’s only available for iOS.
