Goof-proof candy monsters perfect for your little monsters this Halloween

It’s monster season! Celebrate Halloween with a fun edible craft you can make with the kids. Made from Kit Kats and a few other candies, these candy monsters could not be more simple. And neatness is not required.

These little monsters are fast and easy to put together. Besides Kit Kats, you only need a couple of other ingredients as well as some melted candy wafers or white chocolate to “glue” them together. It’s a perfect activity for kids of all ages. You can’t really mess them up.

Although I love the regular chocolate Kit Kats, an orange-tinted, white chocolate flavor is available during the Halloween season. I also found some green tea-flavored Kit Kats in my local Asian grocery store. If you can’t find them, you can also use other mini candy bars available during Halloween, like Hershey’s Candy Corn bars, which are made with candy corn creme with candy bits.

Kit Kat candy monsters recipes

Green tea-flavored Kit Kats can be found online or in some Asian grocery stores. Orange Kit Kats are available seasonally in retail stores.

Yields 25-plus

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

• Assorted flavors of Kit Kats (original, green tea, orange for Halloween) and/or small chocolate bars (Hershey’s Candy Corn bars)
• 50-plus premade candy eyes
• Candy corn
• Candy-coated sunflower seeds in assorted colors
• Melting candy wafers in white and light green (you can also use melted white chocolate chips)

Directions:

1. Remove the packaging from the Kit Kat wafers, and separate into individual wafers on parchment paper.
2. Melt 3/4 cup of white candy wafers in a plastic freezer bag in 20-second intervals in the microwave until just melted. Snip off an end of the bag, and add some melted candy to each Kit Kat wafer. Add candy corn to the tops randomly.
3. Add more melted candy, attach eyes randomly and in different order, and attach candy sunflower seeds in pairs for fangs.
4. Randomly pipe the remaining melted candy wafers (white and green) over the wafers in squiggle lines.
5. Let the candy harden for at least 15 minutes.
