If you’re planning a Harry Potter-themed Halloween party that’s strictly for adults, how about a few Sectum Sambucas to get everyone in the mood?
These Harry Potter-themed shots (aka “Harry Shotters”) from Graphic Nerdity are the perfect tipple for all partying Potter enthusiasts this Halloween.
However they should really come with a health warning — the alcohol content is crazy!
1. Avada Tequila
Avada Kedavra was one of the three “unforgivable curses” in the Harry Potter series. This particular spell, also known as the “killing curse”, “causes instant, painless death” to whomever it hits — which may be a warning to those who attempt this drink.
2. Demintor
This potent shot is based on the Dementor character in Harry Potter: a “non-being and dark creature, considered one of the foulest to inhabit the world”. Given that the Dementor can “consume a person’s soul” and leave them as an “empty shell”, this might not be the best tipple if you’re already feeling morose.

3. Expecto Patrón
Expecto Patronum (the Patronus Charm) is one of the most famous, powerful ancient charms at a wizard’s defence. Complex and near impossible to harness, it does, however, have hugely positive powers if you can master it. So we imagine only good things can come from drinking this particular Harry Shotter, right?!
4. Gin Weasley/Rum Weasley
Give this shot your own flavour, depending on whether you’re a fan of pure-blood wizard and Harry’s BFF Ron Weasley, or pure-blood witch (and eventual wife of Harry) Ginevra Weasley.
5. Sectum Sambuca
Sectumsempra was a curse invented by Professor Severus Snape (aka the Half-Blood Prince). The effects of its words are like that of a sword, slashing deep cuts into the victim from a distance. NB: Body parts cut off by this curse cannot grow back, which could also be said for the numerous brain cells likely to be lost after knocking back a few of these.

6. Triwhiskey Cup
The Triwizard Cup was presented to the winner of the Triwizard Tournament, which involved students from the three largest wizarding schools in Europe: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Durmstrang Institute and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. The tournament was known for being extremely dangerous, so much so that competitors sometimes died while taking part (poor Cedric Diggory took his last breath during the 1994 event). So if you’re still standing after a couple of these, you deserve your own medal.
