Today is Giving Tuesday — why not extend your Thanksgiving celebration and show your gratitude by donating to a food organization?

Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since it began, charitable organizations have seen an estimated 470 percent increase in donations on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. You could take part in that incredible wave of goodwill this year.

The following are worthy organizations working on fighting hunger, working to get healthier food into communities and schools and on supporting family farms.
