If you purchased premade frozen hamburger patties from Walmart, you need to check out this recall — the USDA says some varieties may be contaminated with pieces of wood.
Sam’s Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion hamburger patties have been recalled by Huisken Meat Company in cooperation with the USDA’s Food and Safety Inspection Service. While there have been no reports of illness or injury, the company is working to make sure that these are removed from store shelves as well as your home. It was discovered that wood originated with an incoming ingredient and was detected during production.
