If a Crème Egg toastie is the stuff of your dreams you’ll want to get yourself to London‘s Greek Street between Jan. 22 and March 6. For seven weeks only, the world’s first Crème Egg café is popping up in Soho and promises all sorts of eggy delights for fans of the fondant-filled treat.

On the menu will be Crème Egg toasties, Crème Egg and soldiers, Crème Egg tray bakes and mini Crème Eggs and strawberries, reported The Metro. The café will be spread over three floors and even has an “interactive ball pool.”
Cadbury had a massive backlash to deal with recently when customers were outraged to discover the Crème Egg’s Dairy Milk shell had been replaced with a cheaper (and according to their taste buds, inferior) version. Analysts IRI said the change lead to a sales slump in the region of £6 million.
A Cadbury’s Crème Egg spokesman said at the time: “The fundamentals of the Cadbury Crème Egg remain exactly the same as 1971; from the size of the egg to the original recipe with delicious Cadbury chocolate and a unique gooey creme filling.”

However many remain unconvinced, such as expert chocolate maker Paul Young who said on This Morning that there was less cocoa in the updated version of the much-loved Easter treat. “You can’t change something that is literally ingrained in our heritage. The consumer will know,” he said before showing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield how to make their own versions of the Crème Egg.
The Crème Egg café will be open at 26 Greek Street from Jan. 22 until March 6 on Fridays between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Only limited walk-ins will be available so diehard fans should book their Crème Egg café tickets via Eventbrite.
