Restaurant turns Creme Eggs into a delicious dessert

For those with a sweet tooth there are few things better to bite into than a Cadbury Creme Egg and one U.K. shop may have found a way to make the popular treat even more appealing.

The creation in question is a Creme Egg Scotch egg and it’s the brainchild of Pete’s Bun Shop located in Yeovil, Somerset. But it’s not your ordinary Scotch egg because, instead of a hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat and coated with breadcrumbs, this version is a Creme Egg dipped in melted chocolate, rolled in sponge cake, dipped in chocolateall over again and finally rolled in chocolate flakes, Western Gazette reports.

Yes, we’re salivating already.

The idea came about after Tazmine Brown, the daughter of Pete who owns the bun shop, was inspired by a post on Pinterest and approached her dad for help creating it.

“We’re always trying new things, but this is the first time we have used Pinterest,” she confessed. “It’s very American, and they always seem to be ten steps ahead so I thought it was worth a try.”

If you want to try this creation at home you may have to get your fingers really messy — because it’s a little more complicated that just dipping and rolling.

“It’s a fiddly, messy process. I tried to make one and I had the melted chocolate too hot so it melted the Creme Egg,” said Brown.

Of course something this delicious is bound to get a reaction, and comments on the Facebook post include “OMG!! I need these in my life” and “this is what I call scotch eggs!!! Xxx.” Seriously, we couldn’t agree more.

But have there been any orders in the shop in the run-up to Easter?

Of course there have. Brown said after she posted the creation on Facebook she was inundated with calls requesting the Creme Egg Scotch egg and they made over 100 of them in just four days.
