12 unexpected ways you should be using ranch

I know I’m not the only person who’s obsessed with ranch dressing.

We all know it makes any salad worth eating, but it can do so much more than that.

A bottle of Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Dressing can take almost any meal up a notch or two. In fact, it makes things taste so good that I’ve been tempted to carry a bottle in my purse from time to time (please tell me I’m not the only one who’s considered doing that). These are my favorite uses for ranch dressing — what are yours?

1. Chip dip

Skip the bowls of flavored chip dips — all you need is a bowl of ranch dressing, and you’re ready for a party.

2. Sandwich topping

You may not think of ranch dressing when you’re deciding what to put on your sandwich, but it deserves a place next to the ketchup, mustard and mayo on your condiment shelf.

3. Foil packet meals

Foil packet meals are just about the easiest way to get dinner done, and ranch dressing makes them even better. Pile some meat and veggies on a piece of foil, cover it in ranch, and bake it in the oven or on the grill. It’s delicious, and there aren’t any dishes to clean when you’re done — sounds like the perfect meal to me!

4. Potato salad

The next time you make potato salad, skip the mayo, and add ranch dressing instead. You’re welcome.

5. Mac and cheese

If you think mac and cheese can’t possibly be improved upon, you haven’t tried it topped with ranch dressing. Add hot sauce for even more flavor.

6. Waffles

Chicken and waffles is great topped with syrup, but it’s unbelievable with ranch.

7. Mashed potatoes

Don’t discard the milk and butter you use for your mashed potatoes, but add a healthy pour of ranch dressing as well the next time you make them. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never make them without.

8. Baked potatoes

Skip the sour cream, and go for ranch dressing instead the next time you’re deciding how to top your baked potato.

9. French fries

Ketchup isn’t the only way to top your french fries.

10. Scrambled eggs

You can try to tell me ranch isn’t for breakfast, but I wouldn’t listen, because you’re wrong. Ranch dressing is fantastic with scrambled eggs — either mix it in with the milk before they go in the pan, or add to the top of your finished dish.

11. Grilled cheese

Add a drizzle of ranch dressing to your grilled cheese sandwich before you put it on the grill. Even better, add some heat, like jalapeños or hot sauce, too.

12. Pizza

Whether you pour it over the whole slice or just dip the crust, ranch is a great addition to pizza of any kind.
