Peanut-contaminated flour has struck again, and this time it’s taking our cookies. Today Kellogg Company announced a voluntary recall of multiple products for potentially containing undeclared peanut exposure. Kellogg announced the recall after its supplier, Grain Craft, recalled wheat flour that had the potential to contain low levels of peanut residue.

Kellogg is just the latest company caught up in the recall web of flour that’s possibly contaminated with low levels of peanut residue. A huge baked goods recall has caused Safeway, Jewel, Chick-fil-A, 7-Eleven, Cinnabon, Frito Lay, Hostess and others to yank products off shelves after a batch of peanut-contaminated flour was discovered at the industrial bakery CSM Bakery Solutions.

While you sort through your kitchen pantry for contaminated goods, you might want to include sunflower seeds and foods that contain them to the list of tossable items, since they may be part of the sunflower seed recall for possible listeria contamination. Summer may be the season for sunflower seeds and s’mores, but for now it might be best to hold off or to double-check where your ingredients are coming from.
