Actually, you need to make these even if you’re not watching the Olympics. They’re that good.

Bananas fritas recipe

You can eat these bananas as they come out of the skillet, or you can dress them up with honey, ice cream, coconut, nuts and more.

Serves: 4 – 8

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 4 – 6 minutes | Total time: 14 – 16 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 4 bananas, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon until they are completely combined. Set aside.
  2. Cut each banana lengthwise, and cut each half evenly into 2 pieces.
  3. In a large, cast-iron skillet or frying pan over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to bubble. Add in 4 – 5 banana quarters cut side down, and cook for 2 – 3 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle on the cinnamon-sugar, mix generously, and flip the bananas, cooking for an additional 2 – 3 minutes. Sprinkle the bananas again with a generous amount of cinnamon-sugar, and serve hot.
