M&M’s just announced a new flavor and we can’t believe it didn’t already exist

With the passing of M&M’s 75th anniversary this year, the candy giant unveiled its newest flavor, and no, it’s not pumpkin spice. It’s the sweet, creamy syrup we like swirled on our ice cream and drizzled in our coffee… it’s caramel M&M’s!

It’s been a long time coming for M&M’s to release their take on the ultimate flavor combination of chocolate and caramel. Honestly, I would have thought they already had them.

And now, we’ll get them in delicious bite-size pieces!

The new candy will be filled with a soft and smooth caramel center surrounded by the familiar chocolate shell and crunchy candy coating. At only 190 calories per serving, these bites of caramel goodness sound like they’re going to be our new go-to candy when we’re in the mood for a little something sweet.

But there’s a catch — caramel M&M’s won’t be available until May of 2017.

Darn it! I guess we’ll just have to settle for regular M&M’s or pretzel M&M’s or peanut butter M&M’s showing up in our holiday gift bags instead.
