Houses aren’t the only thing Chip and Joanna Gaines like to renovate. Their latest project is launching Magnolia Table, a restaurant they’re opening up at the site of the former Elite Cafe, a Waco, Texas, institution that’s been around for almost 100 years.
Just like they do with the country houses they remake, the couple is focusing on bringing out the best of the historic building’s character while giving it a clean rustic-chic look. Still no word on whether or not they’ll come help me renovate my apartment, but oh well. I’m glad they’re branching out.

I’ve never thought of Chip as much of a chef, but apparently he often cooks up big breakfasts for Joanna and the kids, and Lord knows the man loves a good ham sandwich, so you can expect to find that on the menu.
Joanna already has Silos Baking Co., where she serves up her masterful baked goods. At the restaurant, she’ll switch gears just a little, making home-baked pies.

You can also expect to find cozy comfort foods like homemade biscuits with crafted jams and butters, farm eggs Benedict, the Gaines Brothers Burger and other tasty items you might find yourself craving at breakfast, brunch and lunch (or any time of day if you’re me, but sadly the restaurant doesn’t open just because you woke up from a dream craving pancakes at 2 a.m.).
The Gaineses hope to open the restaurant by the end of this year, assuming the renovation goes as planned. In the meantime, if you’re craving a bit of what the Gaineses have to offer, you can always swing by Magnolia Market at The Silos to pick up a treat at Silos Baking Co. — or just eat a ham sandwich while you’re watching Fixer Upper and call it a day.
