Oprah Is Headed for a Supermarket Near You (& Soon)

Oprah Winfrey is on a mission to master yet another endeavor, and it’s one that will stretch her ever-expanding empire into supermarkets across America — a sampling of the media queen’s new refrigerated soups and side dishes will hit shelves this week. Created in conjunction with Kraft Heinz, the line has cleverly been dubbed “O, That’s Good.”

The soups and sides, which will retail for $4.99 and $4.49 respectively, are a healthier spin on classic comfort foods we all know and love (think mac ‘n’ cheese and creamy mashed potatoes!). Foods within the O, That’s Good line reportedly contain no artificial flavors or coloring.

Although Winfrey announced the partnership with Kraft Heinz back in January, both parties announced on Wednesday that the inaugural offerings will start rolling out this week. Among the first four soups and four sides being released are mashed potatoes mixed with cauliflower, cheesy pasta with white bean purée substituted for some of the cheese and broccoli-cheddar soup infused with butternut squash.

Bonus? Ten percent of the profits will go to charities working to ensure no one goes hungry.

“It all started with the idea for the cauliflower mashed potatoes — the twist is really what sparked this whole idea,” Winfrey revealed to USA Today. “I was sitting at my table in my own home and had whipped up some cauliflower, trying to make myself think I was eating mashed potatoes, but it was not working. So I thought, ‘What if I used a portion of the mashed potatoes and added the cauliflower? Then, I would have a substantive mashed potato-cauli dish.'”

In a statement, Winfrey explained she has turned down offers by many product lines over the year because they simply didn’t feel authentic. However, when Kraft Heinz approached the mogul about making comfort food that was nutritious and accessible, she was “hooked.”

“I love healthy foods and cooking with food straight from my garden. I am always looking to make my meals more nutritious without compromising on the comfort elements I love,” she said.
