While we’re pretty used to finding sandwiches and salads at Starbucks, we’d never expect to find foods all that fancy or trendy until now.

Starbucks is jumping on the favorite-foods fusion trend with their new sushi concept, which is actually also a burrito.
The chicken maki roll isn’t a traditional sushi burrito (if there is such a thing) because it doesn’t actually contain any raw fish. In a press release, Starbucks described the sushi burrito as, “A classic California chicken burrito with a twist — the chicken maki roll is rolled in sushi rice and wrapped with nori. The roll is filled with slow cooked, shredded chicken, fire roasted tomatillo salsa, lime crema, fresh cucumber and pickled cabbage with onions, avocado and crispy onion.”
Looks delicious, yeah?

I’m actually OK with the no-fish take on this sushi burrito because I’m not quite sure the world is ready for raw fish at their favorite coffee shop.
The new sushi burrito is part of Starbucks’ new Mercato line, which also includes more traditional items such as sandwiches and soups. However, the sushi burrito, should you be eager to give it a try, is currently only available at two stores in downtown Chicago.
