Obama Is Way Too Classy for a Can of Coke

A fun fact that some may not know about the presidential Oval Office: In it, you’ll find a red button that you can use to summon help on demand.

Is it for security? Nope. Military intel? Nope, not that either. The red button is actually just to make it easier for the president to call an aide to come and assist him with some sort of need. For every president, these needs are different. But for former, and much beloved and missed, President Obama?

Well, President Obama used his button to get tea, according to The Huffington Post.

We learned this sweet tidbit via Sir Richard Branson’s new autobiography, in which he shares that during a visit with Obama, the president used it to order them beverages. Interestingly, the current president, Donald Trump, uses it to summon Coca-Cola. No comment.

“As we stood up to leave I noticed the red buttons on his desk. Obama saw me looking at them,” Branson wrote in his autobiography, Finding My Virginity. “He said, ‘They used to be there for emergencies, but now I use them for ordering tea for my guests.'”
