It’s happened to all of us. You’re on a road trip or at a gas station craving coffee, but there’s not a Starbucks in sight. That’s when you head to the refrigerator case, where they hopefully have something caffeinated. But until now, most Starbucks bottled drinks have been made with dairy, leaving them off-limits for vegans and other people who can’t or won’t drink cow’s milk.

Well, those days are (thankfully) at an end. Starbucks just announced in a press release that starting in 2018, they’ll have a selection of bottled ready-to-drink beverages containing almond milk available for purchase, and they honestly all sound delicious.
First up, there’s the Bottled Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink with Almondmilk — basically, a nondairy version of their classic bottled Frappuccino that will come in mocha and vanilla. As a bonus, it also has 35 percent fewer calories than the usual version.

Then, there’s the creamy coffee smoothies. Starbucks Doubleshot Coffee Smoothies made with Real Fruit and Almondmilk will come in two flavors, dark chocolate-banana and vanilla-honey-banana. They’re a great on-the-go meal on those mornings when you need coffee and breakfast in a flash. The Frappuccinos and the Doubleshot Coffee Smoothies will be available in May of 2018.
Starbucks is also releasing two new flavors of single-serve cold brew, vanilla and fig and sweetened black coffee, which will be available starting in February of 2018.
There’s a bit of a wait before we’re able to get our hands on these new drinks, but in the meantime, we can at least be thankful that at Starbucks stores, we now have a choice between almond, soy or coconut milk. The dietary tide is turning, and the road to glory is apparently flooded with delicious nondairy milk.
