The only thing spookier than real zombies is the thought of spending more than $5 on a blended coffee beverage, but year after year Starbucks comes out with a Halloween creation so amazing, we can’t resist. Like a moth to a flame or a zombie to a brain, we flock en masse to the chain to get our Frappuccino fix.
This year, the drink in question is the Zombie Frappuccino, and it honestly looks pretty awesome. It’s a crème-based caramel apple-flavored drink topped with pink whipped cream “brains” and a bloody-red mocha drizzle.

Starbucks is also serving up a mummy cake pop in honor of Halloween, and they have a pretty Day of the Dead cookie available too. And if you’re a real ride-or-die Starbucks fan, you can enjoy all of these treats while listening to the Starbucks Halloween Party Playlist on Spotify.

This isn’t the first time Starbucks has gotten in on the Halloween action. Last year they were slinging the Frappula Créme Frappuccino, a white chocolate and strawberry concoction, and before that, they had the Franken Frappuccino. Needless to say, they seem pretty dedicated to giving us grown-ups our sugar fix, and it is a nice consolation prize considering it’s apparently unseemly for an adult to go door-to-door begging for candy on Oct. 31 (or so my neighborhood watch claimed in their strongly worded letter, SMH).
The Zombie Frappuccino will be available Oct. 26 through 31, so get one while you can. Because really, there’s nothing scarier than missing your opportunity to post an Insta of this season’s flashiest drink.
