Sometimes, we like to mark a new year by adding a bit of boldness or edge to our routine. Diet Coke, it seems, is no different.

Coca-Cola announced that their famous diet variety is becoming a lot more colorful. They have four new flavors rolling out this month (but no, the original Diet Coke we know and love isn’t going anywhere — don’t worry!).

If you like Cherry Coke, you’ll most likely love the new flavors, because they are pretty fruity. Your favorite soda will now come in flavors like Ginger Lime, Feisty Cherry, Zesty Blood Orange and Twisted Mango. While it may seem a bit weird to add citrus flavors to our Diet Coke, it’s worked for LaCroix, right?
“Millennials are now thirstier than ever for adventures and new experiences, and we want to be right by their side,” Rafael Acevedo, Coca-Cola North America’s group director for Diet Coke, said in a statement. “We’re contemporizing the Diet Coke brand and portfolio with sleek packaging and new flavors that are appealing to new audiences.”
The Diet Coke packaging is also getting a makeover. While each can will still hold 12 ounces of bubbly beverage, the new cans will be thinner and taller than the current cans.

As people are drinking less soda and more water and seltzer, maybe the key to soda surviving is to make it more like the flavored seltzers everyone is into. Hey, it can’t hurt.
