The Backstreet Boys kept us going in the ’90s with their boy band cuteness and dance moves, and as they’ve grown up, so have we, and now they are taking on a totally new business venture.
No, they won’t be hosting an American Idol-like TV show or designing their own line of clothing like so many celebs do, but instead, they are hoping to make a splash in the liquor industry. During a recent stint at luxury resort Moon Palace in Cancun, the band told a Tasting Table reporter that they are working on a potential tequila venture.

“I like a good reposado or añejo,” Kevin Richardson said.
Then Nick Carter added, “And that leads us into talking about our tequila venture that we’ll be coming out with. [We] just need to find a partner here in Mexico.” Something tells us they won’t have much trouble finding that partner, either.

Tasting Table reports that in Mexico, tequila can only be manufactured in the state of Jalisco, which means the band will need a local Mexican partner. However, a BSB-endorsed tequila brand would be a sure hit in Mexico and in the States — as well as in my personal liquor cabinet.
There are no more details available as of yet, but we’re excited and happily waiting with bated breath. Backstreet Boys are back, all right — with cocktails too! As many other celebs are venturing into booze, from Jon Bon Jovi’s rosé release to George Clooney and Casamigos, the boys will be in excellent company.
