When you come home from a truly terrible day, what’s the first thing you do? If you’re like a lot of people (myself included) you reach for the nearest pint of ice cream, sit back and let each spoonful sweeten up your sour day. Now, what if we told you there was a new ice cream that was full of more sour than sweet goodness?

It’s true. Sour Patch Kids ice cream is officially a reality, and it’s for sale as we speak (and scratch our heads). While we’re all about the current move in dessert nostalgia, this is a pretty weird one if you ask us.

The news was originally revealed via JunkFoodMom’s Instagram, but lots of people have been posting to Twitter saying they have already spotted it on shelves in Walmart stores.
The new ice cream is officially called Sour Patch Kids Red, White and Blue and is a combination of vanilla ice cream and lemon sorbet. The sorbet and ice cream mix is combined with something called “redberry swirl” and bits of blue Sour Patch Kids. The “redberry swirl” seems to be, per JunkFoodMom, a liquefied red Sour Patch Kid and is a puckerworthy level of sour.

Yes, we’re kind of skeptical, but JunkFoodMom, who was lucky enough to have a taste, says it’s actually pretty good.

If you happen to come across it, we can’t wait to hear what you think… this one is absolutely a head scratcher, but we’ll reserve judgment until we actually try it.
