Fast-food burgers and sweet dreams aren’t exactly two things we associate with one another, but Burger King’s latest offering, just in time for Halloween, is truly the stuff of nightmares.
Called the Nightmare King, this massive sandwich is definitely going to give your cardiologist a fright. It’s a towering stack of fried chicken, a quarter-pound of beef, American cheese, thick-cut bacon, mayonnaise and onions. But the thing that really pushes it over the top is that it’s served up between two halves of a glazed green bun (with sesame seeds, of course).

The commercial for the Nightmare King burger is legitimately scary. Apparently, they did a study to see if eating the burger can actually cause nightmares… it turns out it can. The 100 participants in the sleep study were 3.5 times more likely to have bad dreams after eating the sandwich. Is anyone surprised? Eating that much meat before bed, never mind the mayonnaise and cheese, can’t be good for anyone’s psyche (especially if you pair it with the chain’s seasonal Frozen Fanta Scary Black Cherry).
