The Pioneer Woman Calls These ‘The Best Cookies in the World’ & They Only Take 10 Minutes to Make

When the queen of delicious desserts says that a sweet treat is one of the “best in the world,” we have no choice but to listen and believe her. And Ree Drummond (a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman) says her Brown Sugar Oatmeal Cookies are just that. They’re made with melty brown sugar and crispy oats, and bake up to be some of the crunchiest cookies you can make. The best part is that you can make a bulk batch ahead of time and stick the dough in the freezer to always have these treats on hand.

“Best cookies in the world, with two different ways to approach the dough,” Drummond wrote in her Instagram caption. “And the mixer of my dreams!! So happy to finally launch this beauty after years and years of waiting for the stars to align. BTW I included a baking blooper in this video … In closing, I love cookies!”

And these cookies will only take you about 10 minutes to make!

Drummond’s brown sugar cookies start with, well, brown sugar! She beats the brown sugar together with softened butter until fluffy, then adds in vanilla and eggs, scraping the bowl of her mixer when needed. It looks like Drummond may have subbed half her brown sugar for granulated sugar in the above video — this will make your cookies a bit lighter in both color and taste!

Then, in a medium bowl, combine your dry ingredients (flour, salt, and baking soda) and then add the dry mixture to the wet in several parts, mixing everything until just combined. Then, mix in your rolled oats.

Drop spoonfuls of your cookie dough onto a prepared baking sheet and bake your cookies for about 12 minutes until they’re golden — cook a bit longer to make them crispier! Or, as Drummond shows, you can also freeze your dough into a log shape and cut your cookies from the log when you need a bit of a sweet treat!
