This Popular Kid-Friendly Aldi Snack Was Just Recalled — Here’s What Parents Need To Know

As parents, we’re always looking for quick and easy after school snacks for our kids that we can prepare in minutes. Bonus points if the older kids can prepare the snack themselves, and extra bonus points if we can sneak in a little protein. So snacks like frozen taquitos often find their way into our freezer. But we have unfortunate news for Aldi shoppers. Aldi just announced that their frozen chicken and cheese taquitos, produced by Bestway Sandwiches Inc., are being recalled for a scary reason — the taquitos might contain pieces of metal, according to the USDA.

The Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos at Aldi come in 20 oz. containers and have best buy dates of 07/03/25 and 09/25/25. They are marked with the establishment number EST. P-40327. Approximately 24,870 pounds of the taquitos, which were shipped to select Aldi stores, are being recalled.

So far, one person has reported finding a piece of metal in this batch of Aldi’s frozen taquitos, and another person incurred a dental injury after eating a taquito with metal in it. Because the taquitos are frozen, there’s concern that people might not even realize they have some of the recalled product on hand, and could consume them at a later date without realizing the risk. Make sure you check your freezer if you think you’ve purchased these taquitos, and closely inspect the packaging of any frozen taquitos from Aldi to make sure they’re not part of this recalled batch.

Stocking the house with easy after school snacks can already be a hassle, but dealing with a recall is even worse. If you had to get rid of your taquitos stash, then check out some of these kid-friendly snacks you can stock up on at Costco.
