The Pioneer Woman Just Shared a Genius 30-Minute Recipe for Taco Night & It’ll Be Your New Favorite Easy Weeknight Meal

As far as dinners go, tacos are already a pretty easy one to pull together. (That’s what makes Taco Tuesdays so great!) Brown the meat, add some seasoning, shred cheese, stuff a tortilla, and add toppings. Voilà! A dinner everyone loves. But if you want to upgrade your dining experience — while keeping the quick-and-easy cook time, of course — then Ree Drummond has the recipe for you. The Pioneer Woman just shared her genius taco night recipe that you just might love more than the original.

“Taco night just got a whole lot tastier, thanks to Ree’s taco pie! 🌮 🥧” a post shared to Drummond’s The Pioneer Woman Magazine Instagram account was captioned. Taco pie?! That sounds heavenly. The description makes our mouths water, too.

“It has all your favorite taco toppings—cheese, seasoned beef, sour cream, and diced tomato—on a crescent roll dough base. 😋” the caption continued. “Did we mention it’s ready in just 30 minutes?”

Meat covered in melty cheese and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream on a doughy base makes a complete meal, although you could add beans and/or corn on the side if you prefer. And the directions are simple as well. Just unroll refrigerated crescent rolls from the tube and press them into a 9-by-9-inch baking pan. While this is baking, cook the meat with a variety of delicious seasonings. Once it’s done, you’ll mix in cheese and other ingredients to the pan.

Then, all that’s left is to assemble! Once the crust has been removed from the oven, remove it from the pan and place it on a serving tray before piling it with the meat mixture and your other favorite toppings. (Guacamole, salsa, or queso would be so good too!)

Taco Tuesday, Super Bowl parties, or any other time you want a spicy and delicious dinner in half an hour, this Taco Pie works perfectly. Just slice it up and serve — and don’t forget to double the recipe if your friends and family love it as much as we do!
