Starbucks Just Added a Brand New Refresher & It Has a Trendy Savory Twist

As if you need another reason to go to Starbucks, the popular coffee chain is releasing a new drink tomorrow, and it’s going to be the flavor of the winter! If you are looking for something light, fruity, and refreshing, then Starbucks Refreshers are the perfect option. And while these sweet, fruit-flavored drinks are good all year long, sometimes they can feel a little too summery for this time of year. The coffee chain’s latest flavor is designed to bring these two moods together — and we can’t wait!

On Feb. 4, Starbucks is releasing a new Blackberry Sage Refresher that introduces a savory component for the first time that is sure to elevate the flavor in the best way! The drink is made with sweet blackberries and a savory sage, which comes shaken with water. You can also order the Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher to have it shaken with lemonade instead, or the Midnight Drink to have it shaken with coconut milk.

The sage with the blackberry is reminiscent of the popular cocktail trend and designed for colder, darker February mornings. “During the winter months, we found that customers want something refreshing, yet balanced,” said Billy Altieri, lead beverage developer for Starbucks, said in a statement.

Altieri wants you to imagine “walking through a garden [and] you’re smelling fresh herbs and then berries,” and that’s how you’ll feel with this new Refresher. “That’s really what you’re getting with this beverage — a balance of subtle notes of sage and sweet blackberry flavors.” It sounds so good, right? He added that the savory sage adds “a hint of warmth” to the blackberries that sounds absolutely perfect.

Not into this drink? Starbucks is also bringing back their popular Valentine’s-themed drinks tomorrow. The Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Crème Frappuccino combines strawberry puree, Frappuccino chips, milk and ice, layered on top of more strawberry puree and finished with whipped cream and mocha drizzle. (It’s a dessert in a drink!) You can also get the Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew with Starbucks Cold Brew and vanilla syrup, topped with chocolate hazelnut cream cold foam and chocolate cookie crumbles.

Starbucks is making winter fun again, and we are so excited for our daily coffee run tomorrow!
