McDonald’s Is About to Launch Bacon-Cheese Fries Upon Us

McDonalds‘ french fries have always been put on a pedestal in the world of fast-food icons, and for good reason. The shoestring fries are perfectly crisp and salty and have a unique richness (thanks, artificial beef flavor!) that makes them impossible to stop eating.

Well, things are about to get even more alluring. According to Business Insider, a McDonald’s source recently announced that in 2019, they’ll be launching cheesy bacon fries nationwide.

The same classic fries we know and love will be topped with a cheddar cheese sauce that has a little blue cheese in it for extra oomph, then sprinkled with crispy bacon bits (made from real bacon).

The end result? A gut-bomb of a drive-thru snack that we won’t be able to help but order at least once a day.

We have a feeling they’re going to be good. The product was initially tested in Northern California and Hawaii and was so popular it’s going to get a nationwide rollout, which doesn’t happen with most of the items they test.

We’re also intrigued by the cheese sauce. Now that it will be on the menu, does that mean we can ask for it on… anything? Not that an order of McNuggets needs to be drizzled in cheese, but… well, you can see where this is going.

Thank goodness the year is almost over (for a lot of reasons) – if we had to wait too long to get our hands on an order of cheesy bacon fries, we might have to start protesting à la Rick and Morty Szechuan Sauce fans.
