Decking the halls is magical and present shopping is always fun, but the best part of the holiday season is all the delicious sweets! We are so excited to try the amazing new holiday treats at Aldi this year. Our favorite low-cost grocer has tons of options with peppermint, gingerbread, chocolate, and other flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth the whole season.
“Christmas treats have arrived! Do you have a favorite seasonal treat?” Instagram user @theamazingaldi asked on Sunday. She also shared a compilation video of the many finds she spotted at her local store.
It’s peppermint season, and Aldi got the memo! The peppermint bark is a fan favorite, made with white chocolate and crushed peppermint. You can also get chocolate cookies stuffed with peppermint filling (these would be great to dunk in hot chocolate!), or Benton’s Fudge Covered Peppermint Cremes. The chocolate/mint combination is simply divine! Another great option is the peppermint pretzels stars, featuring vanilla-dipped pretzels covered in crushed candy canes.
Chocolate pralines, crème-filled wafer rolls, pecan meltaway cookies, Mistletoe Mix, and chocolate-and-caramel-covered pretzels are more delicious finds. Aldi is also selling several cookie clusters, which come in cinnamon sugar, dark chocolate peppermint, dark chocolate tiramisu, and milk chocolate gingerbread. And, of course, you can’t go wrong with popcorn this season, which comes in dark chocolate kettle corn, white and dark drizzled caramel corn, and peppermint kettle corn. We want to try it all!
Into delicious drinks? (DUH!) You can get flavored hot cocoa mixes, which include mocha, Irish crème, salted caramel, and peppermint — yum! For even more fun, they have a Melting Snowman, which is actually made with white chocolate instead of snow that melts in hot milk to reveal marshmallows and dark chocolate drops inside. Hot cocoa bombs are another wonderful treat, filled with marshmallows and made with Belgian chocolate. (If you’re over 21, you can also add a touch of alcohol to keep you warm on those cold winter nights!)
People shared their favorites in the comments. “Coco bombs, peppermint bark, and kettle corn will be in my cart,” one person commented.
Someone else wrote, “Fudge covered peppermint cremes for the win. Every year. Just got them Saturday.”
“My girls love the melting snowman bombs😍,” someone else shared.
You can never have too many holiday treats — which must be Aldi’s motto! Instagram user @ohheyaldi spotted the seasonal brand Winternacht back at Aldi with tons of sweet bites.
These include cinnamon star cookies, iced gingerbread cookies, chocolate-covered gingerbread cookies, marzipam stollen, peanut clusters, chocolate dominoes, butter cookies, panettone, and so much more. One bite will transport you to your best memories of Grandma’s holiday baking.
While making homemade desserts during the holidays will always remain a favorite tradition, Aldi’s sweets are a great option for parties, lunchtime pick-me-ups, and even to snack on while you are baking. Head to Aldi soon because these goodies will sell out quickly!
