Calling all chocolate lovers: Ree Drummond’s latest cookie recipe is for you! Drummond (aka, The Pioneer Woman) made her Cow Patty Cookies recipe in a new video, and it looks delicious. I know what you’re thinking: Cow patties?! Ew!! And, well, yeah. The name is disgusting. But the taste is rich and flavorful and (most importantly) full of chocolate! You are going to want to make these ASAP.
“These are very chocolatey cookies, hence the name — that’s all I’m going to say about that,” she says in the video shared to Food Network’s YouTube Channel.
While butter and sugar are mixing in a stand mixer, Drummond works on combining some dry ingredients, which includes plenty of cocoa. Drummond then gradually adds her dry mixture to her wet ingredients, while the mixer is set on low speed.
“This is a rich, chocolatey, marvelous cookie,” she gushes. “I love it, and it has so many good things in it.” These good things include semi-sweet chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and caramelized nuts, which she quickly tells you how to make in the same clip. Yum!
Once the cookies are assembled, Drummond uses an ice cream scooper to create perfect balls of cookie dough on the baking sheet. When they come out of the oven, she recommends leaving them on the pan for about 10 minutes before they are transferred to a cooling rack.
The finished cookie is a round chocolate circle with tons of hidden goodies inside (not dissimilar to cow patties, as disgusting as that is). These decadent cookies have the perfect mix of savory crunch and unbelievably sweet gooeyness.
“Wow those cookies look absolutely delicious,” one person commented on the video. “Man I wish I could just stick my hand right through my smartphone screen and just grab those cookies LOL 🤣😋👍💯.”
“Yummmmmmy,” someone else wrote.
Others had trouble with the recipe name’s ick-factor. “The recipe itself seems great. Too bad I can’t get past the name. Gross.” Maybe that’s the secret — tell people the name of the cookies and there will be more leftovers for the rest of us (*insert maniacal laughter here*)!
Gross name or not, these cookies look phenomenal!
